Thing about love

So I'm still getting over the fact my camera broke and I couldn't take it to Paris - hence the scarce selection of photos blogged here. I managed to document only one outfit but hey its better than none, right?

I have two articles to right for MouthLondon that I'll get started on tonight and I can't wait to write the one about Fall trends - definitely going to write about 'Fetish' as its one of my favourite trends - of course, the whip is optional ;)

Anyway more to the point, Paris was beautiful. Simply. City of love. If only I had a camera to capture what my eyes saw. But sometimes the camera never does justice to life's beautiful moments. So maybe its better this way? That they remain an internal memory.

The second picture is where we stayed, such a beautiful house! The room with the big balcony was ours. We were very lucky.

I had almost a day of travelling there and then a whole day back. Awkward sleeping on the coach to say the least. I'm never going anywhere in Europe on Eurolines again... next time I'm flying!

I only wish the weather was kinder to us - I don't mean rain I mean the heat. For a beach holiday sure but in the city when you have planned outfits and have sights to see its unbearable. Sometimes we didn't go out until after 2pm and still the heat was almost impossible to deal with especially as its a closed off city with no breeze and you have to travel everywhere by underground.

On one night, there was a storm and lighting kept striking just in front of the Eiffel tower - everybody had their cameras out and if ever I needed one myself it was then! The site was absolutely breathtaking. I don't think I'd ever seen anything so spectacular. During the storm, I'd never felt so glad to the feel the cool rain on my skin - after a hot sticky day it was heaven.

Towards the end of the trip was kinda sad - one of my closest friends who I went with is moving back to Canada October and it was probably the last time we will travel together :( but who knows what the future holds?? Canada... what is with that country!? haha all my best friends seem to be dispersing off there...

Anyway normal posts coming up soon, I hate having to back date posts. My camera is fixed now and I promise less writing next time too :)

Rewind xx

Cannes Photo Diary
August 11, 2011 - August 18, 2011

Okay so haven't updated this baby in a while. Slight photo overload but trying to get a weeks holiday into one post was never going to be short and snappy.

My camera broke and I've only just received the pictures I managed to take on borrowed cameras :(

So I've been travelling around France - Cannes with my family and then Paris with a friend... (which I can't believe I didn't have my own camera for :( !!)

I'm back in England now and do I miss France? Well no, actually. Sure the place is beautiful, South of France, Paris but I reeeeeeeeally missed the food available in England - from Indian to Chinese to Polish to Jamaican to British to Italian and even... dare I say it - I missed the English weather - being able to wear planned outfits not sacrificed because of the unbearable heat (especially in Paris) - waking up with no mosquito bites and to cool not sticky air, and just in general: there is no place like home, is there?

Although I will miss waking up to fresh fruit everyday, when the fruit looks this good, and tastes even better, who wouldn't?

Farewell xxx

Denim shirt - Miss Selfridge
Fringe Suede & metal stud shorts - Topshop
Cardigan - Vintage

Mustafah wears:
Blazor -
T-short -
Jeans -

So today I met one of my best friend's from Uni, Mustafah, who I've always wanted to feature in my blog as:

1) He's one of my closest friends
2) That guy knows how to dress! :p and always looks amazing.

But... I'm losing him to Hamilton, Canada this year. (That country is taking two close friends away from me this year grrrrrr ). He's going on his study year abroad. Anyway we had a good day just chillin and catching up in the city, you know doing summery stuff/ easy living. We left just before the riots started in Birmingham, - somebody stole the jellybean bull from selfridges - its crazy! complete anarchy and mayhem.

On a lighter note I'm going to Cannes in two days! What to pack!? I'm going through one of those stages where I feel I have nothing to wear / pack. But then I open my wardrobes and observe all the clothes packed away in 5374759 million boxes and realise that might be a slight exaggeration... But still, what to pack!!??

As for my close friend, goodbye and good luck, you will be missed xxx

exotic

Shirt - Evil Twin @ Asos.com
Sports bra - Primark
Shorts, turban & shoes - Miss Selridge
Socks - H&M
Pics by Georgia

This outfit reminds me of the word 'exotic' and I have no clue why... maybe it's because we went fruit picking for apples, plums and berries, the turban or maybe just the orange socks. But, more importantly - lets talk about the shoes. It's no secret I've been living in heels lately but most of my shoe collection consists of round toe shoes / chunky clogs / wooden heels but I saw these open toe shoes in Miss Selfridge and had to get them. I don't usually like open toe shoes but these are everything I could ever want in one pair of shoes: chunky, black, and suede and the ankle strap, for me, just adds to their perfection. Yup it's official, I'm in love.

p.s this is the Evil twin shirt my Aunty gave me... hehe, what is it they say again? another man's woman's loss is another man's woman's gain :D xxx

Statement ring (left hand) - H&M
Other rings (right hand) - Miss Selfridge
Watch - Urban Outfitters

For so long I debated over whether to keep this Kimono but after throwing it over this outfit last night I decided its a keeper. It's pretty perfect don't you think? I've wanted something like it for so long but never found the right one. Flowers can be quite girly, which is not really me but the colours, red, navy and white keep it tough.

We took the photo's at the back of my Grandma's and Granddad's garden. It's hidden by loads of trees and bushes and is somewhat secret. All the family got together for bbq but it rained! :( So it's been rearranged for today.

Almost forgot!! My Aunty Samantha gave me an Evil Twin shirt which she recently bought off Asos but doesn't want anymore... I think its a beauty!! so I'm going to wear it today and will feature it on the blog, its too gorgeous to hide away! xxx
